PNNL's at SC08—"Get a Rope"
PNNL will showcase its unbridled computing power at the Supercomputing 2008 conference in the self-proclaimed nation's heartland—Texas.
It's PNNL's 20th year participating in the conference and this year promises to be the best yet. Demonstrations in the Laboratory's booth cover relevant topics for today, including energy costs and environment health. In addition, researchers will demonstrate high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities and highlight PNNL's new supercomputer, the Chinook.
SC08 , held November 15-21, is the premier international conference for high HPC, networking, storage and analysis. Nearly 10,000 attendees—scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, programmers, system administrators and managers—from around the world will converge in Austin to learn about the field's latest innovations. Advances in computing technologies featured at SC conferences are driving the world's ability to solve intractable problems in nanoscience, biotechnology, climate research, astrophysics, chemistry, fusion research, drug research, homeland defense, nuclear technologies and many other fields.
